| Government announce full HIPs roll out [ 28/11/2007 ] |

Government minister, Yvette Cooper announced on 22 November 2007 that the phased HIP roll out will be completed to include the rest of the housing market from Friday, 14 December 2007.
The Government have however extended the temporary provision currently in place for first day marketing of properties.

| Smoke free England from 1st July 2007 and beyond [ 22/05/2007 ] |

From 1st July 2007 the Health Act 2006 will make virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England smokefree. The Government hope that a smokefree England will ensure a healthier environment, so everyone can socialise, relax, travel, shop and work free from secondhand smoke.

| Enduring Power of Attorney won’t be Lasting long. [ 01/02/2007 ] |

As a result of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, which comes into force in April 2007, Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPA) will be replaced with Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA).
An EPA is a straightforward document appointing one or more persons to act on the donor’s behalf in relation to finances, property and affairs, and can be as wide or specific as the donor wants it to be.

| Home Information Packs – Coming to Coventry Soon [ 31/01/2007 ] |

The Law Society has recently announced that Coventry will be added as a trial area in the national dry run for the Home Information Pack (HIPs) dry run. HIPs are being introduced to revolutionise the conveyancing process by streamlining, simplifying and making the whole process more efficient.
