Private Client Fee Earner 

 

 

Job Objectives 

 

  • To provide an efficient, appropriate and timely legal service to new and existing clients to ensure the maximum level of repeat business and customer satisfaction, retention, and own fee earning capability.

  • To maintain and improve the probate, will writing and elderly client services to clients.

  • To contribute positively towards the continuous improvement of office processes and procedures in order to meet organizational objectives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Advising, assisting and responding promptly to clients and colleagues, face to face, by telephone, and by mail.

  • Preparation of Estate Accounts, calculating and presenting the information clearly and accurately.

  • Dealing with all probate matters tactfully, with sympathy, confidentially and appropriately.

  • Drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, advance directives (living Wills) and Deputyship applications and all related documents.

  • Where necessary and appropriate, attending on Clients at their home or in hospital or residential care homes to take instructions.

  • Producing accurate correspondence, documentation and forms by using word processors, fax machine and photocopier as required.

  • Filing and retrieving information for Directors, Clients and colleagues in a timely manner.

  • Researching, checking records, recording details and undertaking general administration and correspondence on behalf of Clients.

  • Receiving cash payments (subject to Money Laundering requirements).

  • Keeping abreast of and working within the SRA regulations on separation of Client Funds.

 

  • Managing and maintaining Client Case Files effectively, professionally and to the Lexcel standards.

  • Planning and maintaining an effective diary management system.

  • Maintaining professional standards.

  • Attending Department meetings.

  • Collecting outstanding disbursements and delivering bills promptly.

  • Creating, maintaining and enhancing productive working relationships with Clients, colleagues and other professional organizations.

  • Developing oneself with the role by keeping up to date with developments in the appropriate fields of Law, making and taking opportunities for learning, education and training.

  • Ensuring matters are dealt with in accordance with the Money Laundering Regulations, clients are identified and details recorded on the database.

  • You are expected to familiarize yourself with and adhere to all relevant policies as set out in the Lexcel Office Manual

  • You will be required to work from both our Leamington and Coventry Offices
