A week at Seymours Solicitors

I recently completed a week of work experience with Seymours Solicitors across both Coventry and Leamington Spa offices. During my time there, all the staff members were both friendly and engaging. It was clear that everyone had a profound depth of understanding within their respective departments and were willing to share their expertise.

Within the Residential Property department, I was taught how to amend contracts using a case management system. Ravinder took the time to explain the legal jargon used throughout the transactions in the conveyancing branch. He also involved me in drafting contracts, letters and other legal documents. His supportive approach allowed me to complete tasks independently, with self-belief. I particularly enjoyed seeing the attention to detail even down to the smallest things like spacing!

During my work in the Private Client department, I observed many meetings and there I gained appreciation of the importance of interactions with clients. I noticed how clients value clarity and confidence. I also picked up on the professionalism displayed by Poonam when building strong relationships with clients. Shadowing Poonam gave me valuable insight, which has strengthened my interest in this area of law, with regards to my future aspirations.

Overall, Seymours Solicitors was a delightful firm to complete work experience in and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It provided me with real insight into daily life at a busy law firm, when learning from experienced professionals. I am incredibly grateful for all the kindness I received at Seymours and for making me feel so welcome and giving me such an enjoyable introduction to the legal profession.
